Founder Bio
Transfer Dynamics Industrial Solutions was founded on more than 35 years of hands-on experience across warehousing, distribution, manufacturing, logistics, and supply chain operations. Founder Todd Smith developed his operational foundation working in warehousing and distribution environments involving perishable goods, consumer retail, and consumer electronics manufacturing before advancing into leadership roles within industrial and heavy equipment supply chains. During the late 1990s and early 2000s, he worked within manufacturing and service operations associated with IBM and successor business environments, gaining experience in OEM manufacturing, logistics, and operational support. Todd later spent nearly two decades in supply chain and operational leadership roles with Terex and Tadano, leading projects and operational initiatives involving procurement, planning, commercial operations management, logistics, warehouse operations, inventory optimization, distribution networks, ERP integration, trade compliance, and S&OP implementation. Todd also received Lean operational improvement training through Shingijutsu, a consulting organization founded by former Japanese industrial leaders who worked directly with Taiichi Ohno in the development and implementation of the Toyota Production System. He holds a Master of Science in Supply Chain Management from Arizona State University and advanced supply chain certifications through the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).
